CompuGroup wins Malaysian deal

German health IT firm CompuGroup has been chosen to implement a hospital information system (HIS) at the Bintulu Hospital in Malaysia.
The project will also include providing several clinical sub-systems and a range of services, including: business process re-engineering, implementation, training of users as well as post-implementation support and maintenance. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
CompuGroup’s local subsidiary in Malaysia, Profdoc Sdn Bhd, was given the go-ahead to start implementation at the Bintulu Hospital, through a local government contractor.
Bintulu Hospital is a 284-bedded hospital owned and operated by the Ministry of Health of the Malaysian Federal Government.
According to CompuGroup the HIS implementation for Bintulu Hospital will be the same product being used throughout the entire Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden.
