Honeywell and Aruba form partnership

  • 4 November 2010

Honeywell and Aruba Networks are collaborating to offer end to end wireless networking and mobile computing systems within the healthcare environment.

The companies say they want to support the shift towards mobile data collection within healthcare.

Darius Adamczyk, president of Honeywell Scanning and Mobility, said: “Our enterprise customers have made it clear that they want a secure, easy-to-deploy, end-to-end system solution that provides both wireless networking and data collection capabilities.

"Honeywell and Aruba have a shared vision about the primacy of customer support, and the need for robust mobile data collection across the enterprise. The alliance speaks as much to our commitment to delivering the best end-user experience as it does about building the most capable data collection infrastructure."

The collaboration will combine Aruba’s wireless local area network infrastructure with Honeywell’s Dolphin series of mobile computing devices for data collection, digital image capture, and signature capture.

The companies say that Aruba’s wireless LANs and Honeywell’s mobile computers will work together to simplify patient identification and bedside medication administration while ensuring electronic medical records are secure.

Dominic Orr, Aruba’s president and chief executive officer, said: "Enterprises around the world are looking to workforce mobility to increase productivity, improve efficiency, and control operating costs.

"Achieving these benefits requires robust mobile computing platforms, running on secure wireless infrastructure validated to operate interoperable – all backed by world-class support.

Aruba and Honeywell are offering just such a solution, and we believe it will define a new standard for secure data capture applications."
