Hyland snaps up OneContent business from Allscripts in ongoing healthcare push
Hyland has signed an agreement to acquire the OneContent business from healthcare IT solutions provider Allscripts.
The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2017, once customary closing conditions are satisfied. Pricing details were not given.
OneContent provides healthcare content management solutions that allow clinicians and healthcare staff access and work on documents in the electronic patient record. Around 300 customers use the platform, which Hyland will acquire and continue to support following the transaction.
Hyland said in a press release that it planned to enhance the platform with ānew features and functionalityā, which includes improving integration with the Allscript Paragon EHR system. The company suggested it would also look at where OneContent could best complement Hyland Healthcare, its suite of software solutions for care providers.
A spokesperson said the deal āaligns with Hyland Healthcareās focus on combining information management and enterprise medical imaging with business process and case management capabilities”.
The Hyland Healthcare suite, formally announced last October, is a toolbox of content management solutions allowing clinicians to capture, view and share both clinical documents and medical imaging from a single cloud-based portal.
The company acquired the software suite throughĀ its purchase of Lexmarkās Perceptive SoftwareĀ in 2017.
Bill Priemer, president and CEO at Hyland, said: āBased on Hylandās experience helping more than 2,000 healthcare organizations manage patient content over the past 16 years, we are well prepared to serve the needs of OneContent customers and eager to help them reach their goals.ā
