Docman cozies up to Epson in healthcare-focused partnership

Docman will use Epson scanners in GP practices and NHS hospitals following a new partnership between the companies.

Docman, which provides cloud-based software for managing clinical correspondence electronically, said the alliance would ā€œimprove business practices amid healthcare providers’ scant resources to help prioritise patientsā€.

The partnership will affect some 6,000 GP practices and 125 secondary care organisations that the company supports.

Ric Thompson, managing director at Docman, said: ā€œWe are really looking forward to our future projects together with Epson. We understand that resources are scarce in the healthcare sector, so this partnership works to ensure that organisations are free to focus on what they do best: patient care.ā€

Epson’s DS-530, DS-770 and DS-860 scanners will be utilised by Docman via the partnership, all of which support Docman’s latest platforms.

Clinicians will be able to scan medical correspondence into the scanners and then share it electronically via Docman’s management suite.

Kevin Dobson, product manager for business scan, Epson UK, added: ā€œWith healthcare providers constantly under budget and time restraints, business processes need to be as productive, reliable and affordable as possible.

ā€œWe’re proud that our range of scanners has been and selected by Docman to help the NHS support millions of patients across the UK.ā€

  • I’d imagine DocMan will be doing exclusive special offers with Epson at preferential rates as part of upgrades etc, just a guess?

  • I don’t get the benefit? Are Docman throwing it in? This didn’t really explain anything other than what I’m guessing is Docman reselling Epson scanners.
