Barking, Havering and Redbridge extends partnership with Epro

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust has renewed its partnership with leading healthcare informatics provider Epro, following successful work with integration and interoperability with existing systems.

The technology provided by Epro supports end-to-end outpatient management, inpatient flow, clinical correspondence, speech recognition, mobile access and integration with existing technology solutions.

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust places integration high up on its list of priorities, with interoperability and user friendly systems particularly important.

The trust must ensure that its teams are not duplicating systems or workflows, and is currently developing a roadmap with key partners, of which Epro is a strong part.

Jonathan Elliot, managing director at Epro, said: ā€œWe are incredibly excited to be a part of Barking, Havering, and Redbridge Trust’s digital transformation journey.

ā€œWhen we first set out, the aim was to support the digitisation of clinical workflows through integrating with existing systems in order to improve efficiency and communication.

ā€œNow, as we build upon what we’ve already achieved, we’re excited to be implementing our advanced digital dictation and speech recognition solutions, which will enable better workflows, more structured clinic letters, and a reduction of the existing typing backlog.ā€

Epro is one of the UK’s leading healthcare informatics providers, supporting the NHS with clinically focused solutions. It provides products and services that enable clinical efficiency and a better patient experience.

It now supports over 50,000 users across 15 NHS trusts, including Leeds Hospitals NHS Trust, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Steve Twum, head of clinical IT systems at Barking, Havering and Redbridge Trust, said: ā€œEpro is an excellent partner to work with: the team provides a high standard of clinician-focused systems and solutions, and we could not think of a better, more aligned partner to be on this journey with.

ā€œAs we build upon our existing relationship, we can truly see the opportunities for increased clinical efficiencies that Epro can help us unlock. In the future, we’d be keen to branch out with Epro and collaborate with the potential of mobile or even HR monitoring.ā€
